Total Energy Expenditure – TEE means energy spent for the processes essential for life (basal metabolic rate BMR, for the enrgery needed to digest, absorb, breathe and convert food and finally, for the energy expended during physical activity.

How to calculate Total Energy Expenditure (TEE)?
It is a total of the calories burnt by a person in one day. Yet, it is adjusted to the amount of activity performed by that person. It is calculated by adding 30% of the Basal Energy Expenditure (BEE) calories to the BEE for sedentary activity.
